Councillor for Widcombe and Lyncombe, Cabinet Member for Adults and Council House Building
Alison Born has been a resident of Bath since 1988, and a resident of Widcombe since 1994. She has worked as a professional for the NHS, originally serving in the role of an Occupational Therapist, but primarily as a general manager, overseeing mental health services. She has also worked in a management role for the local Mental Health Trust. A trustee of Alzheimer’s Support since 2011, Alison has been committed to the welfare of others through her charitable work. Alison is a founding member of Bath for Europe, and remains heavily involved in promoting the goals of the group. Her own campaign has pushed for improvements in road safety as well as limiting the environmental impact from car emissions in Widcombe. Alison wants to provide a strong sense of community in Widcombe and Lyncombe by ensuring that it is a safe, sustainable, and healthy place for all of its residents. Alison has a strong interest in the arts, and actively supports Bath Festivals, and the Widcombe based Bath Comedy Festival. In the community, Alison has served as a governor while her children were enrolled in Widcombe Junior School. She is married, with three children, and teaches yoga classes locally in Widcombe.
