Councillor for Weston
Ruth first came to Weston as a toddler in 1962. After graduating from the University of Reading, Ruth lived and worked in London, then Italy and Germany, as well as in Bath. When she’s not carrying out her Council duties, Ruth works from home as a translator/proof-reader (English-German). In the community, Ruth volunteers at Love Weston Café, Love Weston Library, the RUH Cancer Information & Support Centre, and is also active in the Weston Litter Group. She’s a member of the Bath/Braunschweig, Bath/Kaposvár and Bath/Aix-en-Provence Twinning Associations, as well as being a founder member of Bath for Europe, part of Britain for Europe and now affiliated to the European Movement. Ruth is firmly in favour of electoral reform: proportional representation. Ruth is the Council’s representative on the Bath World Heritage Enhancement Fund, and is working hard to improve the quality of life of everyone living in Weston ward, the city of Bath and the surrounding area of North-East Somerset. Ruth is married with two daughters and has a cat; she’s also vegan.
