As the Oldfield Park Ward Focus goes to print it is expected that the planning application by Rengen, for a mixed use development of the current Co-op Scala site, to be submitted to the Council by early February 2020.

This follows pre-planning consultation by the developer in the Autumn, held at Hayesfield School, were they sort views of the proposals. At that time the plan was to retain a smaller Co-op, and a reduced space for the popular dance studio. In addition, the plan then was to provide additional multi-use accommodation including affordable housing, residents homes and residents and office accommodation for students and staff of Norland College.

Cllr Shaun Stephenson-McGall said, “I’m sure many local residents will have strong views on the potential future use of this site and I urge you all to look out for the expected application and to study the plans and respond officially to the Council as part of official planning application process.”
