Your Events Team is planning a regular programme of member events for 2021. Remember to check here or on social media from time to time for new events posted, and look out for the regular Members' Newsletter for details of forthcoming happenings!

We want to make all events interesting, appealing, and accessible, to as many of our members and supporters as possible, so we’ll cover a wide range of subjects: some social, some policy, some fundraising, and some good old political chin-wagging. Live venues are out of the question, at the moment, and that’s to our advantage, because everyone who has access to a computer or a phone can take part in our Zoom sessions . We will vary the days and times of meetings, though, to make them available to as many people as possible, such as parents with child-care duties or people who work different shift patterns.

Fundraising events are very important to the local party, to bring in much-needed cash to allow us to campaign and to support the staff in the office and the work they do. So, we have to sell tickets for these events but we understand that makes them inaccessible for some of our members and supporters. We have therefore set up 'tiered pricing’ for you to select the ticket that suits your circumstances.

This is also where we promote Action Days, hustings and other campaigning events.

If you would like to add your name to our Events mailing list then signup here.

If there is a subject of local interest that you’d like to discuss, or would like to ask questions of a local Councillor or Executive Board Member, or have an idea for a fundraising event, please contact the Events Team on [email protected]. Likewise, if you think there is any way we can improve our programme, or the accessibility or diversity of our events, or if you would like to get involved in organising events, do please contact us by email: [email protected]

    Zoom in Bath, United Kingdom

    Meet the Candidates!

Join us on Monday 12th April, to meet the Liberal Democrat candidates for two crucially important regional roles:

Stephen Williams, the West of England Combined Authority Mayoral candidate, formerly MP for Bristol West 2005-2015.

Heather Shearer, the Police and Crime Commissioner candidate, currently Vice Chair of Somerset’s Police & Crime Panel and a Mendip District Councillor, and member of the Safer Somerset Partnership.

Stephen and Heather will present their campaigns and policies, which, for Stephen, cover housing, transport, and job creation, in the context of Brexit, a climate emergency and the covid-19 pandemic. For Heather, women’s safety and building safer communities is her absolute focus, ensuring our children are safe, victims are supported, and offenders are brought to justice, whilst ensuring taxpayers’ money is used effectively.

Both candidates will be delighted to take your questions on their respective subjects, to inform and support your vote in these very important elections. You may submit questions in advance to: [email protected]

This event is for Liberal Democrat Members and Registered Supporters only.
