STOP PRESS!!!! EXCITING AUCTION ONLINE UNTIL 29TH JANUARY.
BID FOR FABULOUS ITEMS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR YOUR LOCAL PARTY.
Your Events Team is planning a regular programme of member events for 2022. Remember to check here or on social media from time to time for new events posted, and look out for the regular Members' Newsletter for details of forthcoming happenings!
We want to make all events interesting, appealing, and accessible, to as many of our members and supporters as possible, so we’ll cover a wide range of subjects: some social, some policy, some fundraising, and some good old political chin-wagging. Live venues are out of the question, at the moment, and that’s to our advantage, because everyone who has access to a computer or a phone can take part in our Zoom sessions . We will vary the days and times of meetings, though, to make them available to as many people as possible, such as parents with child-care duties or people who work different shift patterns.
Fundraising events are very important to the local party, to bring in much-needed cash to allow us to campaign and to support the staff in the office and the work they do. So, we have to sell tickets for these events but we understand that makes them inaccessible for some of our members and supporters. We have, therefore, set up a fund that will allow us to offer free places for those who would otherwise find the events unaffordable. Details can be found on the page for each event.
This is also where we promote Action Days, hustings and other campaigning events.
If you would like to add your name to our Events mailing list then signup here.
If there is a subject of local interest that you’d like to discuss, or would like to ask questions of a local Councillor or Executive Board Member, or have an idea for a fundraising event, please contact the Events Team on [email protected]. Likewise, if you think there is any way we can improve our programme, or the accessibility or diversity of our events, or if you would like to get involved in organising events, do please contact us by email: [email protected]
Join us for ‘Fables by the Fireside’ - our fabulous winter FUNdraiser, to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. Banish January gloom with a jolly evening of feasting and frivolity.
Either dress up (top half only) with a nod to your favourite character from a fable, fairy or folk tale with a prize for the best costume or accessory (judged by our very own Wera Hobhouse, MP), or dress down – in jimjams and slippers, if you choose!
Entertainment will include atmospheric storytelling and music, a fairy tale themed quiz, interactive games, and a chance to chat with other guests. Excitement will be heightened as we accept final bids in our online auction, which will run throughout January. Take a look now at the fabulous prizes!
We'll deliver a hearty two-course meal (with a vegetarian/vegan option) to your door in the afternoon, with instructions for heating later. See the menu below. You will also be able to choose wine in advance and we'll send glühwein spices for making mulled wine or a non-alcoholic winter punch.
