MPs IN WESTMINSTER are taking control over fracking away from communities and have endorsed plans to dump nuclear waste in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty like the Mendip Hills.
Local campaigner David Wood sent a survey to every house in our area recently and 100%of the people who responded to the question were against fracking in our area.
Nuclear waste plans proposed by the Tory government were endorsed by Labour MPs. David Wood said, "The government also plans to remove the right of local people to stop fracking. Fracking not only has environmental impacts, but can divert water, which would be disastrous for the Bath economy. Local people must have a say.
"There is a cross-party opposition at B&NES Council, but they only plan to write a letter. This does not go far enough."
We the undersigned demand that local Councils are given the say over fracking and disposal of nuclear waste.
