THANK YOU for electing Jess David as your new B&NES Councillor for Moorlands Ward in the May local election.
Jess, who has never stood for elected office before, received a huge 61% of the vote in the new single-member Moorlands ward. Jess is an active community campaigner, fighting to protect parks and green spaces, improve public transport and address Bath's poor air quality. She has previously worked in the environmental sector.
The result in Moorlands follows on from several other Liberal Democrat gains across B&NES, enabling the party to form a majority administration on the Council for the first time in our history. You can see a summary of the overall picture here.
1,051 residents voted in Moorlands, giving a turnout of 43%. The result in Moorlands is detailed below.
Speaking after her win, Jess said “I am delighted to have been elected as Councillor for Moorlands Ward! I have some clear priorities, firstly to tackle parking and road safety problems - including the significant impact of the Bear Flat residents parking scheme in our area. I will also continue to work with you to protect and improve our parks and playgrounds, and listen to your concerns about planning and development.”
To keep in touch, Jess will hold a joint monthly advice surgery with Cllr Shaun Stephenson-McGall (Oldfield Park) at Hillside Hall. Please do drop in with any concerns or ideas for the area. The first will be on Monday 17th June from 7-8pm. You can also contact her via Jess_David@bathnes.gov.uk.
