“Reject Meadows Park and Ride” say Lib Dems following Scrutiny Inquiry Day

Lib Dem Councillors in B&NES have renewed their calls for the Conservative Meadows park and ride plan to be dropped. This follows a 'Scrutiny Inquiry Day' held on 22 March, which was intended to examine a wide range of integrated transport solutions for the East of Bath. However Councillors have said that one day was “woefully inadequate” to cover all the issues and options.

West of England Metro Mayor Announcement

The government has today (16 March 2016) announced the creation of a new “West of England Mayoral Authority”, which will create a new directly elected Mayor for the former Avon area.

 


EU membership to be debated by B&NES Council

Lib Dem Councillors in B&NES are bringing the debate over Britain’s membership of the European Union to the Council Chamber. A motion endorsing Britain’s continued membership of the EU has been registered by Councillor Paul Crossley. This will be discussed by Councillors at the next meeting of Council, which takes place on Wednesday 23 March 2016 at 6.30 p.m.
