Councillor Andy Wait called in the first developers’ submission and Councillor Hal MacFie moved the motion to have it rejected at the B&NES planning committee on the basis of overdevelopment and not enough car parking provision. The motion was carried by 1 vote.
Local Keynsham councillors Andy Wait and Hal MacFie have written to B&NES Council’s cabinet members for Transport with a request for traffic calming measures on part of Keynsham Wellsway following a consultation with residents.
Residents on the Wellsway at Keynsham East are reporting significant numbers of HGVs flouting weight restrictions and bringing vehicles, sometimes with overhanging items, up and down the Wellsway.
All the play areas in Keynsham, except two, are run by the Town Council. Charfield is run by B&NES. They are consulting until November with the suggestion of removing all mechanical equipment and replacing it with more natural materials at Charfield.
Since being elected in May, Hal and Andy agreed to spend 9.00 to 11.00 on the last Saturday of every month outside the Chandag Shops, apart from December.
THANK YOU for electing Andy and Hal as your new B&NES Councillors for Keynsham East in the May local election.
Conservative-run B&NES Council has made a complete mess of our road system. The roads around Keynsham are reaching crisis point.
