Responding to Paul Nuttall suggesting UKIP will stand aside in the seats of pro-Brexit MPs including Kate Hoey, Liberal Democrat Chief Whip Tom Brake said:
"Labour voted with UKIP for a hard Brexit. It's no surprise to see the UKIP leader now endorsing some of their MPs.
"This is a huge blow to Kate Hoey in Vauxhall, who's posed alongside one UKIP leader and is has now been endorsed by another. A vote for Labour in Vauxhall is now a vote for UKIP.
"Those who want an MP who will stand up to Theresa May's hard Brexit agenda should vote for the Liberal Democrats."
