Commenting on the Home Affairs Committee report into refugee resettlement Tim Farron, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, said:
“The Government is failing miserably to deliver on its promise to resettle 20,000 Syrian refugees in the UK by the end of this Parliament.
"In two years they haven’t even reached the 2,000 mark. Resettling 18,000 individuals over three years is a mammoth task but a commitment has been made both to the British public, the international community and desperate Syrians, so Theresa May must now match her words with resources and action.
The Syrian refugee crisis continues to place a huge strain on neighbouring Middle East countries, and Britain must step up and play its role.”
