Our rescheduled event: Council joint Cabinet Members for Transport Neil Butters and Joanna Wright and Cabinet Member for Climate Emergency Sarah Warren will discuss the issues facing transport in B&NES over the coming months. Many people have appreciated the quieter roads, cleaner air and safer walking and cycling over recent months and want to retain some of these benefits. But as we plan to emerge from lockdown, we will face the challenges of reduced public transport, problems of social distancing, speed levels in urban and rural areas, and increased pollution and noise from busy roads. The Councillors will discuss how these issues could be addressed in B&NES including ideas such as the Clean Air Zone, public transport in rural areas, options for walking/cycling, electric cars/scooters, the 20mph urban speed limit proposal. This is a members-only event.
