We’re proud to be a party that listens and leads. We work hard to improve our residents’ lives. The Lib Dems have been running Bath & North East Somerset Council for two consecutive terms with our hallmark competence, compassion and fiscal prudence. Our two strong MPs, Wera Hobhouse and Anna Sabine, use their voices in Westminster to stand up for our communities.

The last seven years of our control of Bath & North East Somerset have shown what a progressive and caring Council can deliver – we’ve made huge progress across the issues that matter to our residents.

Our national political landscape has just undergone a frightening shift. At the time of writing, with 5 councils still to declare, Reform UK had taken control of another 14 councils up and down the country and won an additional 1,444 council seats on 7th May. Split votes between Labour and the Greens let Reform through.

We believe it’s essential that we stand up for our values and keep fighting for compassion and tolerance – values Reform UK and the Conservative MPs who’ve joined them simply do not share. Indeed, many of those elected on 7th May will be the worst type of people - xenophobes, racists, and incompetents who should never be allowed any position of power.

If you are a progressive voter, we hope you’ll agree that we cannot let a divided ballot between progressive parties let Reform seize control of our Council next May, destroying all the Lib Dems have delivered for residents so far, and stopping our ambitious plans from going forward.

In Bath and North East Somerset there is only one party that can stop Reform: the Lib Dems.
