An Open Letter

The Green Party’s lurch to the far-left is leaving its members behind. The proof is that up and down the country, long standing members of the Green Party are resigning their membership.

Most joined because they are passionate about environmental issues, and social justice for all. They are resigning because in the last two Westminster by-elections, you’d be hard pressed to find much about the future of the planet in the populist literature the Green Party has put out; it’s way more about an extreme left wing view of where they want to take the country.

The real tipping point appears to be a motion passed at their conference declaring Zionism to be a form of racism, which many see as dragging the Green Party down the very dangerous path of antisemitism.

The Lib Dems welcome with open arms anyone who shares our values. The local B&NES Lib Dems have delivered one of the strongest set of environmental and sustainable interventions in the country. We are proud of improving air quality by 40%, increasing ways to retrofit our buildings to save energy and money, protecting nature and our environmental assets as a few examples.
